A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

This is the double stroller for you if you want a lightweight stroller that is easy to push with one hand. It's also easy to carry up and down the stairs.

It comes with two fixed seats and can be configured with the possibility of up to 30 seating configurations (including a triple!). Both seats feature UPF 50+ canopies and windows that peek out.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 double stroller is a side-by side double stroller. It can hold two children weighing up to 50lbs. The seats are larger sized than those of other strollers with lightweight designs and the canopy comes with spacious SPF 50 sunshades, with windows that peek out. Other key features include one-parent cup holders and a large, self-standing basket that can hold up to 25 lbs; swing-away bars for children to climb in and out of their seats and the wheels can be locked with swivels to make it easier to maneuver on difficult terrain. It is a great choice for urban and suburban families. It also comes with a newborn-friendly the double set which includes an infant wedgie that can be used to lie flat in a position.

Weight

The weight of a double buggy is among the main factors that determine how easy it is to push. In general, a buggy that is light will be easier to lift and transport, but may not have as much suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.

Make sure to read the specifications of each model before you purchase. Certain double buggies have a maximum seat weight, while others have an overall frame limit. Some also fold with the seats removed to make them lighter and more compact this can be beneficial when storage space is at the limit.

The tri-fold doubles tend to be the lightest models as only one hand is required to lift the front and back sections. They're also narrower than side-by-side buggies, making them ideal for fitting through doorways. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is among the lightest on the market. It can comfortably fit twins or a toddler and baby.

Tandem buggies start out as one pushchair, but they come with adapters to add a second seat, carrycot or car seat they are the ideal choice for expanding families. Some, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating configurations, meaning they can grow with your family until three children. These doubles are heavier than tri-folds but because the weight is more evenly dispersed, they are more comfortable to maneuver.

Folding

The best double buggies for small spaces fold easily and can be folded in just a few seconds. Our Lab experts love this feature because it lets them squeeze the buggies into the back of their vehicles and free up storage space when not in use. For example the Joovy Kooper X2 has straps on each seat that are able to be pulled up, and the entire thing folds down. it's a tri-fold that even our most experienced testers can do with one hand.

The light Delta Children LX Side by Side is another good choice for a small double buggie. Its light weight is a plus but is the features it offers big pop-out canopy that come with SPF 50 protection as well as a the peek-a-boo window; swing-away bars to help little ones to get into and out of seats and reclined chairs and leg rests for little ones.

Manoeuvrability

When choosing a small double stroller, you need to think about its maneuverability. This includes the ease for both children to be able to ride in the buggy. Some pushchairs, such as the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are better than other models.

The narrow tandem buggies are effective in this regard, as are side-by-side designs. Buggies with this type of design can be a little longer and could be difficult to maneuver through doorways.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this, since it's a compact pushchair that allows for two seats to be added, and - importantly - a 'piggyback' board that can carry an additional child.

Other smaller, three-wheeled models, such as the phil&teds Dot, are also extremely agile. This is especially true with its clever "dot kit" that transforms it into an inline buggie. This has a couple of different seating configurations for kids of varying ages and even allows the front seat to be turned to face parents, allowing for the ultimate face-to-face bonding. It also comes with a fantastic storage basket and is super-easy to fold. This is a great solution for families with growing children.

Comfort

Parents can keep both children in sight at the park, in the grocery store, or any other place with narrow tandem buggies or side-by-side buggies. These lightweight doubles can carry two children of up to 50 pounds per seat and come with generous pop-out canopy, which extends far enough to offer real shade with window windows that can be seen from a distance and padded legs rests for little ones to relax and kick back.  double buggy travel system  have a single parent cupholder and a reversible cupholder on the seat back.
